The Olympic Adventure...
Dear students, staff, faculty, and fans of the "Houses of Switzerland"!
The Olympic adventure, part 4, is about to take off. This time we are
heading for the biggest Olympic games ever, and our third participation in the “House of Switzerland” after Athens 2004, and Torino 2006. I just come back from China with our partners from Presence Switzerland, Gamma Catering, Swiss Olympic, Swiss TV, etc…and we can finally launch the race to Beijing. Most of you are aware that for reasons beyond our control we are slightly behind he schedule published on our website (http://www.ritz.edu/Winners/winners.html), and therefore we have a little bit less time for the whole application process as we thought.
If you are interested in joining the "House of Switzerland" team in
Beijing, please proceed as follows:
1. Every person who graduated from, or is still enrolled in a “César
Ritz Colleges” program, and has at least 6 months of work experience (ideally F&B) can apply for a position at the HoS Beijing 2008.
2. The time frame as known so far is from the 22nd of July to the 28th of August. In view of the lenght of the operation, students still enrolled in a program in summer 2008 will have to take a break of one term in order to participate.
3. As for the previous Olympics, the organizers will provide all
participants with transportation to and from Beijing, food and
accommodation during your stay, as well as pocket money.
4. All available positions at the HoS are listed below. Choose your favorite one, plus one alternative.
5. Send your application containing a letter of motivation, your CV and a copy of all relevant work certificates, latest by December 15th, 2007, to:

If you should send me your application by email, please make sure that you attach a scanned file of your certificates. As mentioned on the website, we will do the pre-selection on campus; however the final decisions are taken with the project leaders of Gamma Catering who do not know you. It is therefore from biggest importance to send a complete application, containing all necessary information.
The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) has for the moment not accredited any of the National Houses, therefore I cannot provide you with details of the location as well as the operation. The only thing I can tell you is that it will be like the Olympics in China: Greater, Bigger and Better than everything we have seen so far.
As already for Athens 2004, and Torino 2006, you can also participate at the adventure from a distance, as we will regularly update the "César Ritz" family, as well as the rest of the world, about the progress of the preparations of the new HoS Beijing 2008 team on our website.
